We are an 11-16 school that serves the island of Walney, Barrow Island and Barrow-in-Furness.
It is our aim to maintain the highest aspirations for every child in the school, supporting them to reach their potential and be the best they can be. We make a clear statement through our Equal Opportunities Policy that every student, regardless of ability, class, religion or race has unique needs and is of equal value.
Having recently completed the final phase of our school extension and modernisation, our approximately 700 students benefit from facilities designed for 21st century learning. But learning is not restricted to within the buildings and we are very proud of our thriving extra-curricular and sports programme.
Our students have a voice and we always value what they have to say. Both they and their parents tell us that this is a safe school in which to learn and everyone is well cared for. Our pastoral care system enables every student to be listened to, supported and valued.
I hope you find our website useful. If there is anything else you would like to know, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are an open school – you are always welcome to make an appointment to come and visit us during the school day to see what goes on here for yourself.
