Key Stage 3
During Key Stage 3 students will study number, algebra, geometry and statistics.
Students will experience a varied teaching and learning curriculum. They will build on their skills from primary school and use Mathematical methods to solve problems and learn through open ended investigations. Students will have the opportunity to collect and present data and develop their understanding of Mathematics through group work and discussion.
Students will have the opportunity to use Numeracy Ninjas to enhance their fundamental numeracy learning. A number of our students also take part in Mathematical competitions such as the UKMT Maths challenge that requires mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency in the use of different techniques. We are very proud that the school has students achieving the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
We promote independence in Maths and support all students in developing the skills that will play an important role for them throughout their lives
