Walney School Governor

On 1st September 2014, the new Governing Body of Walney School commenced its duties.  The role of the Governing Body is to set the strategic direction of the school and to hold school leaders to account for ensuring that vision is realised.

If you would like to join the Governing Body and have experience and skills in any of the following areas; please contact the school to enquire about Governor vacancies or complete and return the application form below.

  • School Improvement
  • Strategic Business Planning
  • Curriculum Planning
  • Project Management
  • Student Welfare / Child Protection
  • Community Involvement
  • Health and Safety
  •  ICT
  • HR / Employment Law

This is certainly not an exhaustive list.  The most important attribute for a Governor is a passion for the best interests of young people and a belief that every child deserves a first class education.
