Engineering at Walney School
Walney School is a Specialist Engineering College, one of only 70 schools in the UK. Engineering focuses on the STEM subjects. STEM refers to science, technology, engineering and maths - subjects that are becoming increasingly relevant and necessary in today's workplace.
The Specialist Engineering College status continues to help us strive for excellence in all areas of learning.
Through working with our sponsors and our partners the Community Innovation Centre was opened in November 2011. The centre is used by pupils, parents and adults from the community, business and educational groups. The Innovation Centre provides a quiet, calm learning environment for our students. This magnificent resource also enables us to host workshops, meetings, showcase exhibitions. The centre has Wi-Fi coverage and catering facilities.
It is our aim to capture the imagination of young people and inspire them to choose engineering as a career choice.
